City Park Shelter was built in 2015 with a professional Urban Design. The shelter includes 6 picnic tables, electrical outlets, restroom facilities, 1 outdoor grill and drinking fountain -- all partially enclosed.

Lake Petocka South Shelter has a nicely painted wood siding. The shelter includes 4 picnic tables, 3 grills, electrical outlets, and public restrooms. Park equipment was installed in 2011. Public restrooms installed 2016.

Lake Petocka Volleyball Shelter near the sand volleyball court is a simple wooden shelter that includes a grill, 2 picnic tables, and electrical outlets.

Lake Petocka Men’s Club Shelter nestled between the baseball fields and the beautiful Petocka lake view includes 2 grills and 2 picnic tables. BRSC restrooms are available during baseball and softball season. In the distance, a picturesque pergola with a wooden swing, that’s a perfect spot for relaxation.
Lake Petocka Shelters are attached to the Chichaqua Valley Trail. The city maintains several miles of linear bicycle/pedestrian trails. Trails both on and off streets, allows for serene hiking.
The Depot - trailhead is not reservable. The trailhead is used for bicyclists and community events. No parties or other large events.
Park shelters may only be reserved by one person or party at a time, so reservations depend on availability. Please contact City Hall at 515-967-2418 to verify that your requested date and time is available. Click here for reservation forms. Reservation forms must be returned with your reservation fee and deposit to City Hall before the requested date in order to secure your reservation. A $100 deposit and a reservation fee are required.
Park shelters may also be used as "first-come, first-served," without a reservation. "First-come, first-served," means that availability is not guaranteed, so if someone else is using the shelter, please be respectful of the other person(s) or party.
Facilities and Programs at Lake Petocka are offered on a non-discriminatory basis.
The American Legion Post 396 now has their own website! Please visit www.bondurantpost396.org for information about the American Legion and Auxilliary, building rental rates and availability calendar, and other news and events. The Bondurant American Legion also hosts a Community Breakfast in Bondurant on the 3rd Saturday of every month at the Legion Hall from 7:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
There are three churches in Bondurant. Please contact these churches directly to inquire about rental policies and availability.
Bondurant Recreational Sports Complex
The Bondurant Recreational Sports Complex (BRSC) is located at 660 Jr Haines Pkwy, Bondurant IA 50035 next to Lake Petocka Park. There are eight fields available to rent for games or practices. To view the field availabity calandar or to reserve fields please click HERE
